Here it is! One happy, healthy little 20-week old bub. So excited!

I keep walking into doorways and bumping into walls/tables/chairs…you name it, if it’s in my path I seem to trip over it. I had a chat to my GP about it and she said that it’s pretty normal for your sense of balance to shift during pregnancy. With an increasingly heavy baby growing inside, I guess it stands to reason that we can’t walk straight!

I had to have my baby shower earlier than most people would because a couple of my closest friends are going to be away for the majority of my third trimester. Here’s a pic of some of the gorgeous cakes they made for me!

I have a wedding to attend next month and am curious as to whether or not I can safely apply fake tan. Anyone spoken to a GP about DIY fake tans or spray tans? I wouldn't do it on a regular basis but would be keen to know if a one-off could be detrimental in any way.

I feel like a neurotic mother already and I'm only in my first trimester! I've read so many things on Google (I know I should really stay off it) about how things can go wrong. I'm starting to stress about it big time! I know it's ridiculous, but I just find it hard to imagine that there's actually a baby in there (despite numerous positive tests + a whole host of symptoms), and that it'll be able to thrive in my belly. Being pregnant is such a bizarre concept! Bring on the 12 week scan - I can't wait for a bit of visual reassurance that all is good! Am I crazy, or does anyone else feel like this too?

I’ve been taking a multi-vitamin + folate for some time now but would like to switch to a specific pregnancy supplement. Any thoughts on which is best?

I never knew there were so many makes and models on the market! The prices vary so dramatically – and of course the features do too. It’s hard to know what I’ll use and what’s unnecessary gadgetry so would love to hear people’s thoughts.

So excited about my 20-week scan that’s just around the corner! Feels like forever since I’ve seen the baby. It’ll be so much bigger now and I can’t wait to see it kicking away – going to be amazing.

Firstly, as I'm sure many of you have worked out, morning sickness often isn't just in the morning! If it was, it'd be far more bearable! I'm almost through my first trimester and finally things have started to improve. For me, I found that having a box of plain crackers by my bed to nibble on first thing in the morning or in the middle of the night was useful. I also stayed away from strongly flavoured foods and smells, and stuck with things that were pretty bland. Sadly, there's no quick fix. For the significant percentage of us pregnant mums who'll end up with morning sickness, it's often just a case of riding out those first 12 weeks but doing as much as possible to minimise the discomfort. You could also try eating little and often, ensure you don't have additional stress in your life, and add ginger/peppermint to your diet. I've been lucky in that I haven't thrown up much, but I did spend a lot of time balled up on the sofa - not wanting to talk to anyone, feeling queasy, and being super tired. Rest assured...for most people it does come to an end, though those 10-14 weeks can seem like an eternity! And don't forget, if you experience really strange cravings in those early days - like wanting to eat dirt (yes, that does happen), it may be a sign you have a vitamin deficiency so make sure you see your GP. Anyone else have tips to share on how they coped with morning sickness?
