...because thriving babies are happy babies

I am a first time mum who has a seven year old stepson and a wonderful supportive husband. Our little princess has us all wrapped around her little fingers, thankfully she is too little to realise this yet :O)

very warm - great to have snuggles with her, she is far better than any hot water bottle :D

Ok, so this is not so much about babies as it is about the effect they have on our bodies. The time has finally come. The breast feeding weight loss has worn off, the winter weight has crept on and though i have gym membership, I keep finding excuses to not go. My job requires me to sit at a computer at least half the day (sometimes more) and the boys, though active, are starting to play together, not requiring my participation as much. (a plus and minus of having twins!) My clothes are starting to feel tight and I'm about to hit my "alarm bells" weight!! SO!! NO MORE EXCUSES!! The baby (and everything since then) weight needs to come off!! I have committed to a weight loss program that allows flexibility and I believe is sensible and balanced. No shakes, meal replacements or pre-made food. Will be nice and adaptable for life with a young family! I have made the new financial year my start date and with that will also come a new commitment to my gym membership!! Though life has been great, I have been getting increasingly depressed over my physical appearance. I guess because life has eased up enough i can think more about me!! Given I'm a 40+ yo mum to twin boys, I want to ensure i can keep up with them for many years to come!! So this is as much for them as it is for me. And I'm sure it wont disappoint hubby at all! :D So here I make my commitment "publicly". Will let you know how i go! x

my not so little baby is around 15 weeks old and in the last week i have switched her to formula (which has made us both far happier so i am seeing the positives and accepting all the changes) when we switched her over i weighed her and weighed her again today.....she is up to 6.9kg, some of my family and friends almost had a heart attack at that as she was only 3kg at birth so has had a pretty incredible weight gain so far.....has anyone else got a baby that seems to be 'thriving'

finally have my daughter laughing for me, not just in her sleep....its the cutest thing - very hard to capture evidence as she gets distracted as soon as i bring the camera out but have one very happy baby :D

every time i see this post i immediately think "before you let your husband loose on his own" LOL
When did you do it? AprilMum’s son Hunter has just started walking and I began to think about baby proofing our homes. When did you do it? With adventurous crawling? Or when walking explorations were underway? Maybe your little one took a liking to something they just weren’t allowed – like your make up? Perhaps it’s continuous – and the hiding places just need to get higher and higher? Tell us when you babyproofed your home and what sparked it here...
