Can 7 month old's have weetbix's?

Hi, I am wondering if my 7 month old can have weetbix's? some people tell me yes and some say no. If so just regular weetbix's or weetbix's for kids?

we have been giving our almost 10 month old Vitabrits since he was 6 months old. He started with rice cereal at 4 months old. Haven't had any problems.

Yes you can & either is fine. I like getting the kids one for the packaging to get DD excited about eating them!

thanks Yuz, I bought some today and I did go with the kids one's. I'm going to give her weetbix for breakfast tomorrow and see how she goes.

I always mix in some steamed pureed pears or apples with it as that sweetens the weetbix just a little and also gives them a serve of fruit (which they love!). Get ready for messes though :-)

For babies under one year, wheat biscuits are too high in fibre so best limit to a small serving of about 1 wheat biscuit, 2 to 3 times a week. The rice cereals for babies are iron fortified and a good alternative.

  • My little girl has been having a weetbix with baby cereal and stewed fruit for the past 6 months she loves it. I give her the weetbix for kids I think it has less salt she eats that then moves on to demolish a piece of toast :-)

  • Vitabrits have less sugar than 'Kids' weetbix! My 8month old has 1/2 a vitabrits and fresh fruit for breakfast, after his formula

I see some great ideas for breakfast cereal for babies but one which really needs a mention is rolled oats. Once your baby is round about 8 months, try some prepared oatmeal with pureed pear or a little mashed banana! Really yummy and so easy too! Have any one of you tried it before?
