This moment is so special to me because it was so short lived. Not long after this moment my little one was ripped from my chest, handed to her father and I was rushed to surgery. I am doing great now my beautiful girl was delivered in next to no time and is just perfect, that wasn't the problem. I was however unlucky when it came to the delivery of the placenta, it just didn't want to come. After the doctors waited and hour and 15 mins for it to be delivered and 2 injections it still wouldn't come. I suffered a PPH and in this lost 2.6 litres of blood and scared a lot of people including myself. I had 3 bags of blood on transfusion after the surgery and am on iron and vitamin C for the next 3 months at least. I am feeling a lot better and am enjoying life with my new little girl. I don't want to scare any of the mums to be with my story, it just a reminder that even the best laid plans can take unexpected turns, but alls well that ends well I say and my little princess couldn't be any more perfect if she tried!

Hi Kittykat008, I can totally relate to your experience and hope you are managing to take rest yourself as you look after your cute little girl. How you are getting on now? All good?

Kittykat I totally know where you are coming from .... EXACTLY the same happened to myself although I lost blood in the birth suite so didn't get this magical moment with my little boy. Rushed to surgery (unsuccessful) and lost more blood .... and spent a total of 10 days in hospital - (the first 5 days still with my placenta in - while they tried to figure out what the best situation would be) As Kittykat said we are not trying to scare any mums to be - however even the most thought out birthing plans can change in a second. Really I guess all you need to think about is the safe delivery of your special bundle and what happens - happens!!!! As long as you can all smile at the end and enjoy this new life! :)

Totally Taysamjunior and what an experience you’ve had. Time does heal some of our experiences, or we forget. But this unique person we bring into the world is just so special it does seem all worth it. How are you and your little boy doing now?
