Our commitment to privacy

Nutricia respects your privacy and is committed to managing and protecting your personal information in accordance with relevant privacy legislation in Australia.

This Privacy Policy explains how Nutricia collects, holds, uses and discloses your personal information and how you can gain access to that personal information. This Policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions and Community Guidelines, which together form the Terms of Use for this Site.

Personal information we collect

Personal information is information which can be used to identify you, such as your personal details (name, email etc.) and photos and videos of you which you upload.  We only disclose this information in accordance with our policies set out below.

Membership

We will collect your name, address, e-mail, birth date, gender, parental and/or pregnancy status and personal interests when you register for membership.  We use this information to customise this website and present information that may suit your needs and interests, including customising email updates from us (if you wish to receive them).

When you sign up to be a member, we will ask you to indicate whether you want to receive updates about our services and products.  We will only send you these updates if you consent to receiving them.  If you change your mind, you can opt out from receiving these updates at any time by logging into your user profile and then following these steps:

1. Click on “My Profile” in the bar at the top right hand side of the website;
2. Once there, click on “Edit my Profile” in the top right hand corner your profile;
3. Uncheck the box labelled “I'd like to receive regular email updates from the Karimums community”.

Communication with you (including LiveChat)

We collect personal information in our communications with you, such as through LiveChat, email or if you call the Karimums Careline. 

If you use LiveChat and are not logged into your profile, we will usually ask for your name and email before the conversation starts.  If you are logged in, our LiveChat conversation with you will be linked to your membership account.

We keep a transcript of every chat had through LiveChat.  This transcript will be securely stored for 2 years and will be used in the event of a consumer complaint in relation to the LiveChat service, or in an de-identified form for training and quality evaluation.  You can request a copy of the transcript of your conversation at any time by contacting our Community Manager on the details below. 

If you call the Karimums Careline, we will collect from you your name and location at the start of the conversation.

If you use our email form to contact us, we will ask for your name and how you heard about us, alongside your question.  In order for us to be able to answer your question, please provide your email or phone number.  

Product Sales

If you buy a product through this website, we will collect personal information from you such as your name, delivery address and payment details for the purposes of processing payment and delivering the goods to you.

Cookies

This website collects information about visitors through cookies.  Cookies are a small data file that will be collected in your web browser in order to track visiting information.   

Cookies store information you provide in forms (including your name, email and due date), as well as your browsing preferences, so that our systems recognise them for next time you visit and this enables us to customise our website for you based on your preferences.  This information is based on your IP address, as well as information you provide by filling out forms, using LiveChat or our Pregnancy Calculator. 

We also use cookies to analyse site statistics, such as pages visited and how long visitors stay there. They allow us to monitor use of the site in order to customise our services and products.

Cookies are stored for at least 4 weeks in your browser cache and are then deleted or replaced.  Cookies are not a program that will destroy any files in the computer.

If you do not wish to have cookies in your computer, you may configure your web browser to reject cookies but you will have to fill out all forms on the website every time you visit.

Your location

This website uses the IP address of your network to guess your suburb or town, unless you provide us with a postcode when you sign up.  This information allows us to customise the site to you and your location, for example, by bringing to the front content posted by members more likely to be near you, or pre-filling the location field when you sign up to be a member.  We also use this information to sort through our members for email updates (if you choose to receive these updates) so that we only email you information relevant to your location. 

If we guess your location incorrectly, you can change it when you sign up to be a member by following the prompts or later by editing your user profile.  This can be done by logging into your account, clicking on “My Profile” on the bar at the top of the website and then clicking on “Edit my Profile” in the top right hand corner of your profile.

By using this website, you consent to this information being collected and used.

Disclosing personal information

We only disclose your personal information to others with your permission or in the circumstances set out below:

• we often engage independent contractors to do work for us such as manage this website, store our LiveChat transcripts, or run or coordinate our promotions.  By using this site or contacting us through LiveChat, email or phone, you agree to our disclosure of your personal information to contractors who do work for us;
• promotional or marketing activities may occur on www.karimums.com.au which are sponsored by another company, trade partner or business alliance. With prior notice to you, we may provide the sponsor company with your personal information.  You always have the right to approve or disapprove of such disclosures;
• we may disclose personal information if we believe it is necessary to protect or prevent damage to our company’s interests, enforce our legal rights, protect persons or property, comply with the requests of authorities under applicable laws (such as police or the courts) or as otherwise permitted by privacy legislation.

We do not sell or lease personal information to third parties.

Your profile and sharing information with others

Once you become a member, you are given a user profile which you can maintain and update at any time with your personal information, including your name, location, parental status and photos. This is your public face for interacting through this website.  Any comments, photos or videos you upload will be associated with this user profile. You decide what you make public to other users.

You should be aware that anything you post to this website, such as photos, videos and comments, can be seen by any person.  You can delete photos, videos and comments you upload after you post them by clicking the trash icon at anytime. This will immediately remove your content from view. If you wish to report your concerns about any content available on this Site, you may do so by:

1. for Member Content:  clicking on the flag icon and ask us to remove the content stating your reasons. This will remove the post from view immediately and ask us to keep it permanently removed from view. It is at our discretion whether we then choose to keep the content off the site or reinstate it on the site This decision will be made by our Karimums Community Manager in their capacity to interpret and enforce the Terms of Use;
2. for all other content:  file a complaint with us by emailing us through the Contact Us page.

If you are logged in, you can control what personal information on your user profile is made public by selecting your preferred privacy settings here.  Your email and address is never made public and you can choose ‘Secret Space’ if you only want your username to be shared with others.  If you are in your first 12 weeks of pregnancy, your profile is automatically put into Secret Space, unless you opt out. We don’t want to ruin your surprise!

If you choose to leave us, you can close your account with us by sending a request to our Community Manager.  Your profile and any content which you uploaded will then be removed from view. We will be sorry to see you go!

Keeping your password safe

When you register, you get a login name and password – please keep this safe! We don’t ask for your password via telephone or email.

If you share a computer with others, we recommend that you log out when you finish using this site if you don’t want others to be able to use your account.

If you forget your login details or password, go to the Sign In page and click on “Forgotten your Password?” Once there, you can type in the e-mail address used in registration and the website will automatically send your login name and password to your registered e-mail address.

Sensitive and children’s information

We will only collect sensitive or health information from you or about you with your consent and use such information in accordance with relevant privacy laws. By supplying sensitive or health information you will be taken to have given your consent to our collection of that information.

For example, we may ask you for information about your due date.  It is not compulsory to provide this information when you sign up for membership or if you browse the site, but if you provide this information we will be able to better customise the site and our email updates to you for your stage of pregnancy.  If you choose to provide this information, you can also hide this information from being made public by putting your profile in Secret Space mode.

We have no intention of collecting any personal information directly from individuals under thirteen years of age, although parents or guardians may voluntarily provide us with information relating to their children. If we obtain information about any individual from a third party we will comply with the relevant privacy legislation at all times. A parent or guardian may contact us at any time if they would like to amend, update or remove information relating to their child from any record we hold or from being displayed on our website.
