Organising your baby shower is the perfect excuse to get your favourite mums and ladies together, play baby games and eat a little cake. We’re here to give you all sorts of baby shower ideas and advice, including when to have your shower; when to send out your invitations; who to invite; what baby shower themes and decorations are happening right now - even what food and cupcakes to bake!
When to have your baby shower
The big question is – when is the best time to have your baby shower? A lot of mums recommend around 30 weeks (or even earlier if you like), before you get too tired and that last trimester exhaustion sets in.
Baby shower games
By far the best part of having a baby shower is playing all the games. The list of fun is endless, but here’s a little one to get you started: Ask everyone to guess your baby’s due date, weight, height, name, sex and length of labour. Collate all the responses and make them into a little book for you to look back on – that way, you can see who was the closest in the end. What other games have you had fun playing at a baby shower? Share yours with other mums.
Best baby shower gifts
If you’re looking for ideas on what gifts to take to another mum’s baby shower, check out our mums’ comments on the best (and worst!) presents they’ve ever received. Getting something for mum-to-be is always a nice touch, especially if you’re also buying a present once the baby is born. Think bath oils, massages, manicures, pedicures ... something to pamper her with!
Ask for a helping hand!
As a mum-to-be, you’re already super busy getting ready for your new arrival, so if a friend or relative offers to organise your baby shower - we say, jump at the offer! That way, all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the cake and presents ... that’s what friends are for.
