Mum, it’s me!
Did someone say 10 weeks to go? Mum, it’s the final countdown! Right now I’m officially around 40cm and I weigh 1.3kgs. I’m seriously ready to go! Apart from my lungs (which still need a little more time) I’m just concentrating on growing. You can start calling me a dreamer now - most of my sleeping time is in REM mode. I’m turning regularly, whenever I see those lovely bright lights. Oh I love lights. Shine a torch on your belly and move it around - my eyes and head may follow it from side to side! Apparently there’s lots of acc...acc...accelerated brain development happening too, so I’m going to be super duper smart when I finally arrive into the world.
How are you?
The joys of being 30 weeks pregnant: constipation, heartburn and indigestion. In the third trimester, developing heartburn is quite a common occurrence. To avoid it, try eating your food slowly, and eating small amounts often, and not lying down soon after having a meal. Keeping times when you eat and drink separate may also help.
The hormonal changes you’re going through can also slow down your bowel movements, leaving you feeling a little ... well ... blocked up. That’s why it’s so important to stay active with light exercise during pregnancy - even a walk around the block or to the shops will do! Make sure you’re eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables too, to meet your baby’s growing needs. Sticking to your healthy pregnancy diet and drinking lots of water is so important, and best of all, you’re almost there!
